About The Meetings

Because of all the grief I've gotten from Hiline, and the repeated hacking attempts against my system, I stopped sending out meeting notices from my system some months ago. Ken Smith sent the invitations out once hasn't since then. Because only 3-4 diehards show up now, it's safe to say the VCATS meetings are dead for now. However, this web page is still here for you to read. Maybe when I get a little bit more time on my hands I'll be able to help resurrect these meetings.

Our Meetings

The CATS club was a popular organization back in the days of BBSs, and sort of died down as the internet became more popular and Hiline Internet Services began holding twice-monthly meetings. Now that Hiline has been bought out and the meetings have been unceremoniously cancelled, there doesn't seem to be any all-inclusive local computer club around here that we're aware of.

The highlight of CATS has always been the monthly meeting. They are now held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 - 7pm, and last for about 3 hours. The current meeting location is Treviño's Restaurant (a 24-hour Mexican food restauraunt in Edinburg). Everyone is welcome! Click here for a map to Treviño's.

Staying In Touch

We invite all to join our irc chat channel at server www.vcats.org, port 6667, channel #vcats. Many of us are there most of the day.
